The February 11th post of Window's "Scene//Electronic Art, New Media and Digital Culture in New Zealand" website with news of whats going on in the digital world interactable to the public contained a wonderful little video clip(just under 5 minutes long) of Prada's "Trembled Blossoms" directed by James Lima with the conceptual ideas of James Jean.
The Surrealist cartoon consists of a young womans adventure through a colourful forest landscape to find some sufficient clothing. I really enjoy viewing pieces like this, the dreamy music from Cocorosie sets the mood and matches it to the visuals quite well. The animation appeals to me very much as I use similar styles in my own art. A very Art noveau feel with a clever use of digital imagery and smooth design.
The only criticism I could give would be that the female figure in the clip looks far too mechanic compared to her floral and organic surroundings...but thats just my own little opinion, it doesnt change the case that it's a fine work of digital craftsmanship.
if you havent seen the clip yet heres the link: http://window.org.nz/
