My Video Clip.
The Storyboard Prevails...As a result of storyboarding here is my short creation which was shot on a Kodak Easyshare CX7530 that had been accidentaly dropped in a toilet and melted in front of a heater, but despite all those troubles, the quality is slightly better than burnt poo.
I edited the clips on one of the latest Macs iMovie program.
The short ventures of a confused killer(or is it harmless wandering?) through a seemingly deserted house.
What will happen?

Scanning Images and uploading.
A quick re-cap on Scanning. This is an Image I scanned in of one of my own works for project drawing. It is a representational drawing of sound and how I perceive noise, processing it from aural to optical. I drew it on wallpaper. I scanned in the image using a Hewlett Packard PSC 1510 all-in-one printer, scanner, copier.
The file was scanned then reverted from a .tiff file to a .jpeg format using Acorn(similar to Adobe photoshop). I also resized the image by 50%, losing some detail and clarity.
Had the options of scanning it in by greyscale but chose to scan using the "Mixed" option.

Blue Oyster Review
Upon my visit to the Blue Oyster gallery(http://www.blueoyster.org.nz/) last week I encountered some wonderful art projects that captured my interest.
After roaming through the main entrance of the building amongst a loud blend of what looked like imitation cardboard car wrecks and blaring television screens displaying post war footage from Iraq, An engaging piece but at the time was too intense for my uncaffienated conscience, This interesting yet very unnerving and alarming feature caused me to walk onward to the next artists space, that of Alissia Holzer's.
Alissia Holzer's works "Transcend Enclosure" consisted of 18 or so minutely sized canvas paintings. I thought they were charming and bubbly little artworks that dealt with, as Alissia puts it "Humanity and Habitat". Contrasting her paintings of waterfalls and wilderness against brick walls and buildings, she paints with a white background, vivid colours for the organic elements and grey and bleak tones for the industrial aspects.
I understood her work as being a protest against the destruction of our earth and addressing her love for our planets natural beauty. I happily stayed and studied the paintings for at least 15 minutes or so before leaving, passing by the cardboard wreck piece once again.
Overall it was a great visit and I enjoyed both the pieces that were there on display.
In case you're too lazy to scroll up heres the link again: http://www.blueoyster.org.nz/
Keep looking there for more upcoming and current exhibits.

The Digital Image
This image "My Way" is of a New York based artist John John Jesse.Punk rocker, and former Catholic School boy of 8 years, John John's work reflects the gravitation and trials of those two opposites.
Born in New York City's Lower East Side, John John first gained notoriety as the founding member and bassist of the legendary influential political punk band Nausea. Nausea toured the D.I.Y. punk circuit all over the United States and Europe in the late 80's and early 90's, and released an LP and various 7" singles. Though since disbanded, to this day they still maintain a loyal following, and have influenced the next generation of the genre.
I chose to post this particular image because it relates to what I'm wanting to do with my works. I also like portraying my experiences, politics, people and lifestyle within my paintings and drawings which is what John John has done and influences me heavily as do much of his other works. You can see some of his other great works on his website. www.johnjohnjesse.net
This youtube clip is one you might recognise (musically) as the Garnier Hair product commercial tune often aired on global television. The original score was written by this punk band The Transplants and then adapted or "censored" in other words for commercial use. It really pulls at my thinking strings with the idea of punk bands selling out to make a buck to the mainstream and corporate world but as the song says "It's a wicked world that we live in...cruel, never forgiving". Henceforth this clip opened up my inner politics, thoughts and contradictions within the music and punk worlds. As I'm always thinking with an open mind I'm constantly trying to find ways of getting my own ideas, opinions and messages conveyed in my works.

Window Response:Prada's "Trembled Blossoms"
The February 11th post of Window's "Scene//Electronic Art, New Media and Digital Culture in New Zealand" website with news of whats going on in the digital world interactable to the public contained a wonderful little video clip(just under 5 minutes long) of Prada's "Trembled Blossoms" directed by James Lima with the conceptual ideas of James Jean.
The Surrealist cartoon consists of a young womans adventure through a colourful forest landscape to find some sufficient clothing. I really enjoy viewing pieces like this, the dreamy music from Cocorosie sets the mood and matches it to the visuals quite well. The animation appeals to me very much as I use similar styles in my own art. A very Art noveau feel with a clever use of digital imagery and smooth design.
The only criticism I could give would be that the female figure in the clip looks far too mechanic compared to her floral and organic surroundings...but thats just my own little opinion, it doesnt change the case that it's a fine work of digital craftsmanship.

What do I think of computers?
So what do I think of Computers? Questions about these universal systems that pop into my head are usually along the lines of:
*Are these technological advancements in our society getting out of hand?
*Who's in control of what happens on the internet?
*Where the hell is .com?
*What would we do without computers now that we rely on them so much as a society?
*Are computers safe?
Generally I think computers are good,bad,useful,useless...its a highly arguable topic.I dont think we necessarily need computers as such but they do benefit us in ways of communication/study and entertainment purposes.
Thats my 2 cents.
